The Joint #013 — End of Phase Check
If nothing feels different, that doesn’t mean nothing changed.
The end of a phase is not a celebration. It’s an audit. Not of results, but of reliability. The question isn’t whether you feel better, stronger, or more confident. The question is simpler and harder to fake: what holds up now that didn’t before?
Look at your behavior under mild pressure. Do you show up with less negotiation? Do missed days stand out faster? Are you quicker to return after disruption? Those are signals of real change.
Skill growth often lags behind structural improvement. Your habits tighten before your outcomes spike. If you only measure visible wins, you’ll miss the groundwork being laid.
This is also where honesty matters. If nothing improved, don’t dramatize it. Identify the leak. Too much flexibility? Too little volume? Inconsistent constraints?
The point of a foundation phase is not mastery. It’s stability. If your baseline is sturdier than it was thirteen weeks ago, the phase worked.
